Admission Information*

Graduate programs are available at the Graduate Institute of Basic Medical Science at China Medical University. We offer master’s and doctoral programs. The application materials could be downloaded from http://web8.cmu.edu.tw/ or obtained from the Admissions Office. There are two ways of getting in the master’s program: through recommendation or examination. Detailed application and admission information follows.

 Master Program by Recommendation

  1. Filing date:     November
  2. Number of applicants to be admitted each year : ~3
  3. Qualifications :
    • For applicants those who hold a bachelor’s degree from science, engineering, medicine, agriculture or related areas, the Cumulative average grade (or CGPA equivalent) must be within top 50% of the class.
    • For seniors, the Cumulative average grade (or CGPA equivalent) must be within top 50% of the class for the first three years during his/her undergraduate program.
  4. Requirements :
    • An official transcript.
    • Two letters of recommendation.
    • An autobiography.
    • Purpose of study. 
    • Verification of the position at class. 
    • Other supporting documents including but not limited to: published paper(s), research report(s), national examination certificate(s) and/or other license(s).
  5. Evaluation Procedures and Criteria:
    •  Preliminary Evaluation 40%
    • Interview 60% 

 Master Program by Examination

  1. Filing date:     February to March
  2. Date of Examination: April
  3. Number of applicants to be admitted each year : ~15
  4. Qualifications :
    Applicants must be either:
    A graduate of medicine, biology , agriculture, or science related areas from four year college accredited by the Ministry of Education, Taiwan R.O.C.
  5. Evaluation Procedures:
    • Written Examination 50%
    • Oral Examination 50﹪

Doctoral Program

  1. Filing date:     May
  2. l   Number of applicants to be admitted each year : ~3
  3. Qualifications :
    Applicants must either:
    hold a Master’s degree in science, biology, medicine, or agriculture from public or private university, independent college, or foreign college accredited by the Ministry of Education, Taiwan R.O.C., or hold a bachelor’s degree in the school of dentistry from public or private university, independent college, or foreign college accredited by the Ministry of Education, Taiwan R.O.C. with minimum two year professional training and publications.
